Bellatrix turned as still as stone as she heard Lucius Malfoy's rude and sneering comment about Rabastan Lestrange, staring at the Head Boy with utter disgust and dumbfounded-ness, not believing that he had truly just said that. And to her. What nerve he had to tell her that! It wasn't as if she hadn't already taken that idea into consideration, and it wasn't that she was jealous about the both of them either. Never in her life would she /ever/ want to go out with sometime as arrogant and two-faced as Lucius Malfoy. She didn't open her mouth for a while, her wand poised in the air as she had thought about sending another spell in the Slytherin's direction but didn't do anything; only stood there perfectly poised in her place before Narcissa's flowing voice shattered the silent air, the words that had been spoken distinguishing the fire within her, for a sudden coldness filled Bella's body at her sister's comments. "Then you just bloody well handle yourself from now on," Bellatrix snarled, looking over at her beautiful sister. She was enraged that Narcissa had the nerve to tell her that, after all that Bellatrix had sacrificed and done for her in the past. She stared at Lucius Malfoy, never having taken her eyes off of him, and then turned away, not glancing once at Narcissa, stepping out of the comparment and not bothering to close the door behind her, the Siamese cat prancing after his owner as Bellatrix stormed out into the corridors of the locomotive.

Lucius watched her, his lips curving into that fricken superior smirk, almost laughing at her face. He gripped his wand tighter, predicting a show-down, until Narcissa had stood in between them. He hadn't been expecting that, but at least he had no need to cling to his wand any more. He lifts an eyebrow at her words, but decides that he is in too good a mood after seeing Bellatrixs' face to contradict them. Never mind, he'd bring it up later or simply ignore her command. About to open his mouth and make a snide comment about the look on her face, he was interrupted by her own harsh words towards her own sister. When she was gone, it felt like the storm had passed, the flame was gone. It almost made him disappointed he couldn't have fought verbally longer with her. Still. He was certain he would have plenty of opportunity to do just that later on. Glancing at the window again, he realized he missed the rest of the sunset. The sky was now the colour of hazy purple, with great blotches of black ink spilled amongst it. The holes in heaven started down at him, shining souls watching their children grow up, as the inuits say. Though of course, the truth was it was a star that exploded thousands of years ago. It was funny that it took something that happened so long ago to effect us only now. He spared little thought towards the woven tapestry of stars and the crooked moon hanging on its peg, instead he approached Narcissa. Standing beside her, he thinks of what to say, deciding this would be a great time to try and sever all connections between her and her sister. "She doesn't understand," he said coolly, "She thinks I'm using you. Or she thinks she's your mother" He plays on the issue that Narcissa brought up, hoping, perhaps, this would only send further rage towards her sister. He wants her to feel that she is trying to control her, clip her wings, one might say. The train was slowing, he could tell. He would try and make certain to sit as far away from Bellatrix as possible when they arrived at Hogwarts.

Narcissa's eyes dropped to the carpeted floor as Bellatrix told her that she was now as good as alone. She thought over what she had just said to her sister, had they just ruined their tight relationship? Who knew when Cissy would need Bella's tough skin and hot attitude to help her get through something? No doubt that time would come quickly. Narcissa's eyes remained down as she gently rubbed one of her arms as if cold; Lucius's words slipped inside of her ear, sending shivers down her thin spin. Narcissa gave a small shiver as he spoke, "She thinks I'm using you." He had said. Why would Bellatrix, her older, loving sister, ever think that? "Are you?" Narcissa whispered as she turned to face him, her eyes meeting his. She could feel the train stuttering underneath her feet as it began to slow down. The slowing of the train was much faster than she remembered; its speed matched the end of Cissy and Bella's relationship. Narcissa quickly looked away from him, not holding his eye contact, "Com'n, let's get off." She said quietly as she felt the train gently jolt to a stop. She got on her tippy toes to get her trunk down.

Bellatrix stood silently out in the corridor of the Hogwarts Express as the train engine had finally slowed down and shut off, causing the locomotive to sputter to a stop, placing a single hand on the wall of the hallway to keep herself lifted and firmly on her feet. She had not believed that Narcissa had the nerve to say something like that to her. She had never felt so much anger showing towards her sister as she did at this very moment, cowering her spot as she was beginning to fear the power and anxiety of everything that was bottling up in her. She wasn't going to go back into the compartment now, with the both of them in there, to retrieve her stuff. Like hell she would. At the moment, she really didn't feel like seeing anybody, save for her beloved cousin Sirius to beat up on him or any of his Marauder pals. Or maybe she felt like seeing Rabastan. Yes, Rabastan would be just the person to talk to at the moment. She leaned down and scooped Orion up into her arms, cradling the feline close to her chest as she smiled at him softly, her calm side beginning to become more prominent.

Narcissa didn't bother to wait for an answer from Lucius as she pulled her own trunk down. This year was seemingly a big year for Cissy, she was growing up, stepping out. Lucius wasn't getting her things for her, Bella had been told to step off and she was holding her head a bit higher... Well, she wished she was. As Narcissa stepped outside of the compartment, Bellatrix was standing right there gripping the wall. Narcissa lowered her eyes automatically. She had grabbed Bellatrix's trunk also and was pulling it behind her own. "Oh..." She said quietly as she sat her sister. She stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to say as her left hand was wrapped around her own trunk's handle and her right around Bella's. "Here." She said simply, apologetically, and almost in a submissive tone as if Bella was her superior, her parent even. When Narcissa thought that, she remembered Lucius's words. Bellatrix was trying to be her mother and Cissy wanted none of that. Her eyes glazed over slightly, getting colder. She raised her chin as she turned and walked away from the common area the two had been sharing.

Sirius glared at James for a moment before rolling his eyes. He didn't bother saying anything as he turned on his heal and opened the door, quickly walking outside their compartment and looking around for Remus.
He'd let the boy out of his sight after just promising not to. He couldn't do that. No more mistakes. Finally seeing his friend, he hurried forward, thinking of a quick excuse as he'd changed into his robes even before going to get his things from his dearest mother. That's what magical transportation was for, yanno?
"Remus, there you are. Why'd you have to leave to change anyway? Never bothered you before." A glint of humor entered his eyes even as he wasn't joking. It was the act he had to keep up after all. Sadly, he couldn't hug his little Remmy-kins and demand him to never leave his sight again so this would have to do. He absently ran a hand though his hair, gray eyes watching Remus very calmly. Almost an 'I could die happy now' sort of look. Which was true. In some strange and rather odd way.

Remus had started to make his way through the first years before suddenly seeing Sirius' presence. Hearing the man’s question he only sighed, after all he hadn't been able to answer it himself fully. Turtle had hooted happily from his shoulder; looking around the now crowded corridor. His excitement died as its beady little eyes fell upon Sirius it let out a deathly screech and started to flap its wings rapidly. Though Remus had quickly grabbed the baby snow owl, and held it in his arms, which calmed it down a bit though it still looked rather pissed.
"Maybe it had something to do with waking up with my head on your crotch," Remus commented shrugging his shoulders. "Did you leave James by himself?" He asked curiously tilting his head to the side as he looked up at his best mate. Though the train had suddenly jolted to a stop causing him to lose his balance and stumble forward.

Lucius felt almost as if he had been slapped in the face. What the hell was that about? He watches her leave, and it dawns on him just how easy it would be for her to walk out of his life. His lips twitched into a frown, he knew he'd have to re-estate his dominance over her. His ownership of her. As these thoughts pass through his mind, he shows no remorse. No guilt. Instead his lips turn back into an emotionless line, and he walks out of the compartment after her - His stuff still lying in the middle of the corridor. He watches her give Bellatrix's things to her, and then walk on by. This pleases him. So at least part of his plan had perhaps worked, and maybe their ties would finally be severed, at least for now. Still, when he thought about it, Bellatrix may prove to be a handy ally if needed. However he does not ponder upon this for long, deciding he would resolve it in the future. He lifts his trunk and the owl cage, Jaux now fully awake and watching him intently. He peers through the bars of the cage, those eyes like yellow lava, yet they seemed to scan into his very soul. He felt almost as if the owl knew every one of his secrets. Which was why, perhaps, he liked the bird so much. He follows after Narcissa meekly, throwing Bellatrix a superior smirk as he passed. He had won, she had lost. All was well.

OoC: Ouch, ownership? And some boyfriend, didn't even bring Cissy's trunk down for her! Gosh! :BIC
Cissy could hear Lucius moving behind her. She stopped in the corridor not too far from the exit and looked at him, "You didn't answer my question." She stated simply. Oh, Little Narcissa was getting just a tad bit too bold. Talking back to her boyfriend, her elder, and the Head Boy. What had happened to the girl who earlier was fawning over him? The girl who didn't care as long as she was with him, to help her status of course. Little Miss Black wasn't acting so Little anymore. She set her trunk down and turned to face him, she squared her shoulders so that she was directly in front of him. A lamp from above shown directly down upon her, her sleek hair glistening, an innocent charm was about her. A small glow from the light made her seem more angelic, even though she was defying her superior at the moment. (Girl Power needs to kick in a bit more haha) Narcissa glanced past Lucius at her sister and then to her reflection in a compartment window. She looked away and quickly did a double take, Gawd she was pretty. But this was neither the time nor place to adore herself.

He stops dead in his tracks, hoping to avoid this rather awkward moment. It seemed almost as if Narcissa had changed. This was a side of her he hadn't seen, and suddenly wished that he hadn't. He didn't like the idea of her turning into someone who would constantly accuse him or talk back. "Why would I be using you?" He says quickly response, perhaps a little too quickly. He narrows his eyes, watching her coolly, waiting for her next move so that he could counter attack. A war was beginning to stir, and he was the experienced general with the battleplan. He guessed what she would say next, already planning a response. He was trying his best to win the war and walk away with the prize. [/center]

Narcissa looked away from her reflection and back up at him from underneath her long, thick, black lashes. "Maybe because I'm the only puerblood who you would have? Because of your obsession with ancestory and mine was the only one that dated as far back as your own," Narcissa replied haughtily."I don't know, Lucius, you tell me. You seem to know everything, so then tell me, why are we together? Just for you to get underneath my sisters' skin? Because of my, ahem, really good looks?" Narcissa didn't want to bring this back to herself, this was about Lucius. But a little vanity here and there never hurt anyone.

He was preparing himself for this, knowing he had walked straight into this trap. However, her words make his lips twist into an horrific frown. Yet he does not curse her or himself. He curses Bellatrix, simply adding more and more hatred towards her. He could tell she would be watching, or at least listening. He wouldn't let her win. "You've been brainwashed by your sister, Narcissa. Listen to yourself. Is that what you really believe?" He glances over to Bellatrix for a moment before returning his gaze to her, staring directly at her eyes. Challenging her, or perhaps even trying to intimidate her, like the wolf. Checkmate.

Narcissa shivered, almost cowered as he bore down upon her. Bipolar much today, Cissy? She couldn't break the eye contact as he stared directly into her, almost through her. His eyes were narrowed and unblinking. "I..." She couldn't think of anything to say as she blinked and looked down at her small patten leather mary jane shoes peeking out from underneath her school robes. She felt like she was being backed into a corner; checkmate was correct. Narcissa kept her eyes lowered, almost obediently. She couldn't meet his gaze, it was just too direct, too forcful. Good bye Girl Power. Cissy was starting to feel like her mother; Her mother was never outspoken, she always agreed with Cynus whenever he made a decision. Did she really want to be that? Or was it just Bellatrix's early childhood rebellion waring off on Narcissa. Bella's need to be independent...

Once again, another battle won. He decided he would promote himself to a five star general later, but for now he occupied himself with his "prize". The owl in his cage looks up at her curiously, unsure why she looked so upset or down or whatever. It hooted to itself, but was generally ignored by his master. It shuffled it's feathers indigently, sick of being imprisoned. "Come"(hahausaidcum) he said simply, wishing he could take her wrist and drag her down the corridor, but instead stands beside her, looking down at her as she stares at her shoes. While she is too distracted with the floor, he lifts his head high and casts his gaze downwards at Bellatrix. His smirk seems to proclaim she's mine. What a lovely man this boy was blossoming into.
