Remus slid down in a seat in front of the neatly decorated ice cream shop. Leaning forward he nipped some ice cream off the tip of his ice cream cone; he felt rather bad since he hadn't told the other Marauders' that he ran off from home after his parents got in an argument over him returning to Hogwarts. Things just weren't going his way lately, and it was really tearing him up that his mother wanted to keep him out of school. After all the hard work he had done in the last 5 years; how could she! Taking another nip of ice cream again he closed his eyes enjoying the chocolate flavoring.
"Hullo dear, would you like another?" A shout plump woman asked cheerfully walking out beside him. It was a week before most students started to shop for their school books, so Diagon Alley wasn't too crowded. Of course he Remmy had gone to buy his text books before started buying food. Unfortunately he was now completely broke and with another 2 weeks until he had to go to Hogwarts; it was already clear to him that he wouldn't be sleeping in the Leaky Cauldron tonight like he's done for the last couple days.
“No thank you,” he smiled sweetly at her standing to his feet and adjusting his side bag onto his shoulder. “I have to go get my books back from the Cauldron.”
“Aren’t you staying there Dear?”
“…I was,” Remus said softly, and the woman looked a bit shocked. Though he continued to walk down the alley now heading towards the Leaky Cauldron not lifting his head to see what was going on in front of him. Though he wasn’t running into someone surprisingly; he wasn’t even knocking anything down since there was a stumble in his step. Finally he reached the entrance and went in side the bartender greeting him happily and he smiled nodding his head at him, and continued walking up the stairs and to his room.
After a few minutes of scurrying around his small rented hotel room, he had everything he needed for Hogwarts packed away. A sigh escaping him, pulling up his large trunk up to the wheels on the bottom of it before heading out the door again, but his trunk had caught on the back of his leg while he headed down the stairs and tumbled down landing on the bottom on his face and his large heavy wooden trunk landing on his back.

Chloe Sutton was used to going to Diagon Alley by herself. In fact ever since she was eleven she would go alone. This year was different though, seeing as she had to shop not only for herself, but for her kid sister, Laira, too. So why was it, that as she was holding her sisters' hand, and taking care of her, when her parents should have been? Simple. They were working. They couldn't bother to take one day off to make sure that their children were okay as they traveled through Diagon Alley. She was sure then, that they would entrust her to take her sister to Platform 9 and 3/4 on September first, once again by themselves. And yet why wasn't she surprised at these actions? She was left alone, but she couldn't do that to Laira.
"Hey hun, you hungry?" Chloe asked stopping and stooping down to her sisters level. Laira merely nodded and Chloe knew better than to give her ice cream. Instead she would take her to The Leaky Cauldron. Both for the fact that she wanted to talk to the owner Tom and she knew her sister loved their soup. "Okay then to the Leaky Cauldron we go!" she said happily. As they walked the short distance she could feel her sisters grip tighten everytime some stranger would pass. She ignored the small pain in her palm and smiled when they reached their destination.
Inside she sat her sister down at one of the tables and told her to stay there, and as she walked over to the owner he was already reaching for a ladel to the soup. "Hey Cole," he said when she finally reached him, and he handed her the soup. "Hey," she said and took the soup from his hands. "Anything new on those fliers?" she asked reffering to the fliers she had asked him to put up about her band. She knew her parents would dissapprove but they were never around to know anymore.
"Oh yeah. Some girl said she was in Hufflepuff and said she had seen you around the school last year." he said shrugging.
"And?" Chloe asked wondering why he had finished already.
"And, that's it. That's all she said." he finished and and moved onto one of the men sitting at the bar.
"Thanks Tom," Chloe mummbled and then sighed as she walked back over to her sister and say the smile that came across her face as she saw her favourite soup. It was minutes later that she had seen the crash and reconized Remus Lupin falling down the stairs, with his trunk landing ontop of him.
Immeaditly she was up and pulling the trunk off of him, and was constantly asking if he was okay. She may have not liked the Muraders and Remus' choice of friends, but she still never like seeing anyone hurt.

Remus looked up at her and smiled bowing his head slightly as he grabbed the suitcase back from her. As his mother said it was never polite to let a lady hold your luggage or something like that. "It's okay I just lost my balance that's all." He smiled not recognizing who she was since he had to deal with a lot of people that James and Sirius would choice to pick on. He wasn't even sure she was someone they had picked on, though by the colors she had been wearing he could only take a guess at it.
"Sorry about that," he told her again bowing his head as he sat his suitcase up straight shoved the Marauders' Map back in his pocket since it had fallen out. Supposedly he could be the only that the others didn't think would lose it. Well of course it was the best choice, considering Remus never lost anything expect a few chocolates which were secretly stolen by one of Sirius' many stalkers. "I guess James was right about me not having the balance to ride a broom," he laughed nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

Chloe chuckled and then watched him carefully straighten his suitcase. "James, Potter? Right?" she said and then looked over at her sister eating the soup. She sighed and then looked back at Remus and stuck her hand out. "Sutton. Chloe Sutton." she said hoping he would take the hand given to him. She was polite and even if he had no clue who she was, she was well aware of his friends.
"Fifth Year," she said she that he would know he was older than her, seeing as she believed that him bowing was unnecessary. "And your Remus Lupin, Sixth Year. Friends with James Potter, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black," she finished cringing at Sirius' name. Boy did she hate him and James.

Remus happily shook her hand, and was about to open his mouth to introduce himself. Though it was clear that she had clearly beaten him to it. Strangely it didn't surprise him that she knew who his friends were after all who in the school hadn't known James and Sirius. Even Peter had gotten quite a name for himself by always being there when they'd torture Snape. It was also clear to him that she had cringed at Sirius' name; it had been sort of weird since his best friend didn't usually get that reaction from girls. "I think you're the first girl to say Padfoots name like that," Remus laughed, though it sounded more like a giggle as he pulled his hand away from her since they had already shaken hands and used it to cover his mouth. "He usually gets the opposite reaction," still he couldn't stop from giggling. His elbow pressed against the empty money bag in his pocket and his face flushed, and stopped laughing. "Thanks for helping me Miss. Sutton."

"Chloe" she corrected him and then smiled. "And no problem. My pleasure to help." she said and then turned around to check on her sister again. "Oh and about Sirius, well lets just I'v-" she started but tripped as she turned and landed on Remus in a hugging position.
At that moment though Sirius Black walked into the Leaky Cauldron and saw Chloe hugging Moony. He snarled and then stomped over to them and pulled her off of him. "I don't EVER want to see you touching him again!" he said and tried to calm down but was not completely that task. "Got that, Princess?" he asked with such distaste in his words that he might as well have been shooting a machine gun at her.
"Well Snuffles for your information I tripped!" she yelled and then felt a tug on her sleeve and her face went from pissed to calm. "Yes Laira?" she asked stooping down again.
"I-I f-finished," she said and pointed to the empty bowl on the table that was currently being lifted into the air by Tom as he winked at Chloe.
"Okay. Well we better finish shopping then," she said and then turned back to Sirius and Remus. "Maybe I'll see you around school," she said to Remus and ignored Sirius. She and Laira walked back through the Leaky Cauldron and were out of sight within seconds, going back to get their school books and leaving Sirius with Remus.
"Well at least she's gone." he said and turned to Moony. "Moony try not and associate with her. She IS a slytherin ya know. And on top of that she's terriblely mean." he said reffering to all the times she had beaten him in wrestling, and game she had learned from Muggles.

Remus looked up at the two opening his mouth to get a word in, but was unable too while the two seemed to be dissing each other with nicknames. He sighed as he leaned against the wall waiting for them to stop, and when she walked off he glared up at Sirius. A sigh escaping him as he closed his eyes muttering something to himself.
"You know, she was just helping me," he told him softly looking up at him now his golden eyes were drooping slightly from the lack of sleep. He stood up straight again, though his arms were still folded across his chest. How Sirius and James could just think that all people in Slytherin were evil or bad confused him slightly. Snape wasn't too bad, they just never gave the male a chance because he looked like he never showered.

Sirius huffed and the turned back to Remus. "Yeah, but.." he started but stopped himself. "Remus you, just don't KNOW her like I do." he said and then glared at the spot that Chloe had been standing in. Still he hadn't seen her little sister in forever and the fact that Chloe has stopped glaring long enough to take care of her only sister was impressive.
"Moony," he started looking down at the other male. "Why did you run away? You know when James and I found out we freaked out. Well actually I did, but either way we have been searching for you since four in the morning!" he said placing his hand on the other's shoulder.

Remus looked at him and sighed still holding onto his large suitcase. What was he suppose to say to that? Oh sorry you wasted your time let me go live on the street for the next two weeks? Glaring up at Sirius he felt rather shameful since he hadn't told them that he moved out of his home. Muttering the word sorry under his breath he finally put the heavy luggage down, and looked down at the ground again.
"I only did it because...well my brother he's not a squib, and mom was threatening to keep me home this year," he explained and wondered how they had figured out. Chances were that his father had sent them letters after not being able to find him by himself. Of course his father had wanted him to continue going to Hogwarts, and let their son know about the magical world. Though his mother had separate plans, "I think they're going to get a divorce over me and my brother Sirius..."

Sirius felt bad. He had known Remus' parents, and they seemed like good people. He even knew his brother. So hearing Remus' voice when he had said that his parents might get a divorce made his heart ache. Why did he have this feeling now? Well he wasn't quite sure himself. All he knew is he wouldn't be able to control himself if Remus dissappeared again.
"Hey, don't think that. You never know." he said realizing why now he had ran away. "And you know if you want you are welcome to move in with me and James. We can share a room or something. His parents will probably be cool with it." he said hoping that it would at least make him feel okay.

Oh how badly he wanted to accept that offer Sirius had made, but he couldn't bring himself to become another room-mate of James parents who already had a lot on their hands. After all Sirius and James had to be quite a handful to handle; he knew that since he'd often be the only reasonable minded person in their little group. Then it hit him. He was broke and about to take up living on the streets with no food for 2 weeks; surely that would only make the other Marauders' worry even more about him.
"I don't know," he finally answered. "Mr. and Mrs. Potter sure have their hands full with you and Prongs already Sirius."

Sirius laughed and then subsided to a mere chuckle. "Your probably right. But even still you'll probably keep us more in check than they could." he said knowing it was true. Well at least on his part. Truthfully it had only been a few weeks ago he had moved out of his own house and James took him in. He was just too fed up with his mother and brother hounding him about Slytherin. It just added onto his distaste for the house.
"Listen. How about we find James and Peter, and then decide where you'll be staying." he said and grabbed Remus' truck before he could say anything and then started to head out to Diagon Alley. He stopped and turned around to look at the other. "You comin'?" he asked.

"Not with out my bags!" Remus said simply slipping his wrist out of Sirius' grip, and went back to the stairs and picked up the large suit case trunk. Something normal for a Hogwarts student to carry around on September 1st and the last day of school. He dragged it behind him, until he reached his friends side. A sigh escaping him, as he looked down at the ground. "If Peter's here we better find him fast, I'm sure he'll be going crazy soon with the full moon only being 3 days away."
