"Can I help you?"
The words were filled and tainted with bitterness and scrutiny as they had been spoken out rather sharply and not to mention quite stridently, the tone having to be loud in order to be audible over all the scratching and hissing and clawing and croaking that enveloped the store and its entirety. They had been spoken by a witch, the particular proprietor standing behind a flattened countertop and peering towards the door of her shop through large black spectacles. A single vile of rat tonic was being held in her hands as she cleared her throat and looked to be rather irritable.
"Are you deaf, child?" the shopkeeper called out snappily. "What do you need?"
At hearing the words a girl turned her head sharply towards the woman, her dark hair, the color as black as the most starless of night skies and hanging in loose ringlets, twirling as she had whirled around to face the witch, not noticing as her hand had slipped off of the door handle, the only entrance into Magical Menagerie's slamming shut with a loud thunk. The girl looked to be around the age of fourteen, perhaps even fifteen, her height not being all that magnificent but as tall as most students that she attended school with. She was dressed in a green sweater along with a black skirt, a cloak tossed over her shoulders, the robe apparently being the one that she wore proudly around Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the emblem of the house of Salazar Slytherin proudly stitched just a bit below her left shoulder. In her arms there was a nice carrier and in it laid a Siamese cat, the creamy color of its fur seeming to stand out from its surroundings, its piercing emerald eyes casting around precariously, and almost as warily as its owners.
"I need to purchase a new carrier. Orion seems to have outgrown this one," Bellatrix Black went on to explain, looking away from the witch behind the counter, setting the cage down on the floor and opening its door, reaching into the enclosure and retrieving the large feline, the animal not the slightest bit reluctant as the girl cradled him in her arms. "I don't want him crowded on the way to school."
"Of course not. Don't want to inconvenience a cat," the shop's owner went on to say, scowling somewhat as she stood up from where she was situated on a stool, coming out from behind the counter and making her way over towards the cages in attempt to find one that would fit the girl's pet, leaving Bellatrix standing with Orion held lovingly in her arms, gazing around the shop absentmindedly.
